Knight Regiment
Marching Band

The San Marcos Knight Regiment is the Marching Performance Ensemble for the high school and is comprised of Winds, Percussion, and Color Guard.

Members of the Knight Regiment Marching Band are enrolled in two courses through the fall semester.  The marching rehearsal is called Marching Band/7th period and takes place Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30 to 8:30pm.  This is a semester course with required performances that ends following the final performance in November.  The 7th period Marching Band course earns a semester of PE credit.    The other course is different depending on the student's focus.  Wind musicians are enrolled in Wind Ensemble or Concert Band, percussionists are enrolled in Percussion Ensemble called Marching Band/Drumline 1st period, and color guard students are enrolled in 1st period Auxillary.  Courses are year long courses.  Each of these courses have additional performance opportunities throughout the year.

The Knight Regiment has had a long standing tradition of being the leading component of the SMHS music program by being a tireless workhorse that always finds adversity not a challenge, but an opportunity to rise to the top.
